Unity cannot be downplayed in every sphere of life. It is vital that all become one since a house divided cannot stand if it has divisions and rifts from within. Media personalities have a very tempestuous journey in their quest to attain the unity that will enable them work with one voice. United voices against a single evil in the society make it cede ground regardless of the magnitude.
It is of critical importance for all radio personalities to be one so that media freedom is not curtailed by any external force, be it from the government or any other unforeseen force. Media, and more so radio, has come a long way in the United States and its survival is of paramount importance. There are people whose lives depend on the information they receive from the radios, and any attempts to deprive such people of their sole source of information should be dissuaded.
Media personalities do not only gang together so to protect their freedom, but also to condemn any social evil and injustices that seem to portray the society in a negative manner. One of the notable moments when radio personalities showed unity of purpose was during the Unity day in October 2015. Several corporations teamed up to campaign against bullying. The corporations and media celebrities also promoted inclusion, kindness, and acceptance. Some of the corporations that were involved in the day include Face book, Customlnk, Instagram, Disney, and TLC network. YouTube sensational Bethany Mota started off the journey of the day with a rare media tour which was followed by an event that was hosted by the mall of America.
Media unity in the United States is therefore critical if tangible results in various events and fields are to be achieved. Biasness should not be encouraged since it divides the media persons in several factions that do not augur well with media unity. Any systematic emphasis of a particular point of view that contravenes the standard of journalism practice is interpreted to be media biasness.
Such should not be encouraged. Biasness claims in the U.S media includes claims of corporate biasness, liberal biasness, mainstream biasness, and conservative biasness. Unity of the media should not be entrusted on a few individuals. It should be done under the watchful eye of an independent watchdog that will promote and fight for unity regardless of the pressure mounted by evil wiles.
